Bonus Rounds in Jupiter: The Dye Preserve & Palm Beach Par 3
After kicking off the Ultimate Golf Road Trip, we couldn't help but veer off course before we even played our first Golf Digest ranked public course. Driving right past our intended initial destination of Jacksonville, Florida, we continued trucking down I-95 to Jupiter. And what a blast we had! Watch our first rounds of 2017 here.

#10. TPC Sawgrass (Stadium)
As I stood behind the famed 17th island green at TPC Sawgrass, gave my camera a rest and watched in awe as the sun crested over the horizon on this iconic hole, I couldn't help but become overtaken with emotion. #66. World Woods Golf Club (Pine Barrens)
Tucked in the western part of Florida you'll find the tree-lined fairways of World Woods Golf Club. We teed it up at the Pine Barrens course, which is one of the best values you'll find on the top 100 public course list. // Golf Digest rank: 66th

It takes little time to realize this is a unique place. Larger-than-life fescue covered dunes, massive bunkers and a natural feeling landscape that coaxes you into believe this place has been around forever. Welcome to Streamsong.

#36. Fallen Oak Golf Club
In the heart of the De Soto National Forest, a mere 20 minutes from Biloxi, Mississippi you'll find Fallen Oak. Guest's of MGM Resorts Beau Rivage Resort & Casino can enjoy a round on this fantastic Fazio design. // Golf Digest rank: 36

#91. Dancing Rabbit Golf Club
Dancing Rabbit marked our 9th round on the Ultimate Golf Road Trip. Tight fairways demanding shot shaping off the tees characterized this course. // Golf Digest ranking: 91st

#38. Old Waverly Golf Club
Our 10th round on the Ultimate Golf Road Trip took us to Old Waverly, one of the most charming golf properties around. A friendly front nine gives way to a challenging, yet beautiful inward nine - 5 holes of which snake along a large lake.

#95. Great Waters Course at Reynolds Plantation
With the Azaleas in bloom, and Lake Oconee acting as the backdrop on many of the holes, the Great Waters Course is a beautiful golf experience. Add in the fact there are 5 other courses at Reynolds Lake Oconee, and this may very well serve as your next golf destination.

#56. Golf Club at Cuscowilla
The Golf Club at Cuscowilla is another example of a fun Coore & Crenshaw design. Lakeside holes, drivable par 4's, and unique red-colored bunkers make for a great golf experience. The only downside? In 2015 the course actually went from public (for resort guests) to private.

#19. Harbour Town Golf Links
It's hard to describe the special feeling at Harbour Town, but one thing's for sure -- this bucket list destination needs to be on the top of your golf travel list! // Golf Digest ranking: 19

#73. Caledonia Golf & Fish Club
Just a short drive from the golf haven of Myrtle Beach, Caledonia offers another Mike Strantz masterpiece. Tree-lined fairways challenge your game while providing beauty along the way. Also, take a look at sister course True Blue, another Strantz design that's just across the street and well worth a play.

The Ocean Course on Kiawah Island is one of the most magnificent courses you'll ever play. It's America's version of links golf, with no shortage of wind, fescue, and beautiful ocean-side golf holes. // Golf Digest Rank: 3rd

We all know Myrtle Beach has plenty of golf courses, but quantity doesn't always translate to quality. The Dunes Golf & Beach Club is certainly the latter though, with a beautiful and challenging layout near the ocean. // Golf Digest Ranking: 50th

Dormie Club is one of the most secluded, natural golf courses you'll find. Uninterrupted by houses or roadways, Dormie offers a fun round of golf on a scenic layout. // Golf Digest Ranking: 43

#64. Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club
Pinehurst has no shortage of classic style golf courses, and Pine Needles is among the best. The restored Donald Ross layout will challenge you with tree-lined fairways and tough crowned greens. Primland is hands down one of the most beautiful golf courses you will find. Epic mountain views and endless elevation changes make for a memorable round of golf.

#45. Bulle Rock
Pete Dye is known for his tough and often questionably fair golf courses. At Bulle Rock in Havre De Grace, Maryland, his championship layout is a little more friendly than most, offering a fun experience on a natural layout. // Golf Digest Rank: 45

#30. Omni Homestead (Cascades)
Tucked in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Omni Homestead's Cascades Course delivers a charming golf course for guests. The front nine winds along the mountainside while the back sits in the valley below. Watch to see what the former home of Sam Snead is all about.

#55. Spring Creek Golf Club

The King of municipal golf courses, Bethpage Black is one of the most fun golf experiences you'll encounter. #60. Nemacolin Woodlands Resort (Mystic Rock)
Nemacolin Woodland Resort is the epitome of a luxury golf destination, with unbelievable accommodations, two championship golf courses, and a plethora of activities. The Mystic Rock course is the former host of a PGA Tour even, and offers a challenging, scenic round in southwestern Pennsylvania.

There's no shortage of discovery at Virtues Golf Club as the course introduces you to unexpectedly brilliant elevation changes, fescue-lined links-style holes and a finish stretch that will test even the best.

#83. The Donald Ross Course at French Lick Resort
Though the Pete Dye Course gets all the attention, the Donald Ross Course at French Lick is a historic gem. Host to the 1926 PGA Championship, the golf course remains similar to it's original design, routing golfers through the rolling hills of southern Indiana. Bring your "A" game on the greens, as the Ross-style greens are certainly tough.

Through the first six months of the Ultimate Golf Road Trip, this was one of our best surprises. The Pete Dye Course at French Lick presents an stunningly beautiful, challenging and fun layout. It's position on a hilltop lends to epic views of the Indiana Countryside and Hoosier National Forest.

#87. Belgrade Lakes Golf Club
Tucked in the mountains of Maine, this dog-friendly golf course was one of our favorites of the Ultimate Golf Road Trip. We loved walking the scenic fairways while our dog Ella ran alongside us every step of the round. Such a unique experience, on a beautiful and fun golf course.

#52. Atunyote Golf Club & #82 Kaluhyat Golf Club
Turning Stone Resort's Atunyote & Kaluhyat courses both boast scenic views of the surrounding New York farmland, while offering two different layouts. Kaluhyat's narrow fairways challenge even the straightest hitters while Atunyote's world-class facilities, conditioning, and championship layout make for a memorable round of golf.

#71. Tobacco Road Golf Club
Tobacco Road Golf Club is hands down the most unique golf course we've ever played. Interesting sight lines, an intriguing layout, and never a dull hole. Tobacco Road is a must play in the Pinehurst area, if not for it's uniqueness, then for it's pure enjoyment. // Golf Digest Ranking: 71
