Golf Equipment: What’s In My Bag?
With all the different golf brands on the market, it can be difficult to decide which golf equipment is best to put in your bag. I’m often asked which brands I prefer, so I’ve decided to share what’s currently in my golf bag.
While I think you could make good arguments for all of the major equipment manufacturers, club choice ultimately boils down to what looks and feels best for each individual golfer.
I always recommend hitting clubs before purchasing. Demo days at a nearby course or a trip to the local golf shop should provide all you need to make the ever important decision.
Although I sometimes make tweaks and upgrades, here’s a look at what’s currently in my bag.

Key Consideration (when choosing equipment)
If I had to offer one piece of advice to everyone from high handicappers to scratch players, it would be to ensure you have the proper shafts in your clubs.
Sure, the clubhead is an important part of your sticks, but the shaft will have a major impact on ball flight (trajectory) and spin of the golf ball.
With today’s technology, be sure to get fitted up on some form of simulator or flight scope that can provide a specialist with the information needed to put the best clubs in your hands. You’ll be glad you did!
Wondering how you like the bag? Very interested.
I have Steelfiber in my Apex irons and wonder how they might wear without divided sections per club.
Hey Dal. The Vessel bag is great. Plenty of space to store everything, but still lightweight enough to carry during walking rounds. The big positive is the fact you can customize your own bag. They do offer “stock” models (for a slightly lower price point), but ultimately if you have a custom design in mind, Vessel is a great company to look to. You’re right that the bag doesn’t have dividers for each and every club, but there are full-length dividers between the major 3 compartments (6 slots in total, but 3 run full length). I think the shafts would be okay, but I can’t speak too in-depth to the impact of a steelfiber shaft during normal use in a bag. Hope this helps.
