Episode 5: Fallen Oak

A short drive north of the casino town of Biloxi, Mississippi, nestled in the heart of the De Soto National Forest, you’ll find Fallen Oak.

 

The Tom Fazio design winds its way through the heart of the De Soto National Forest, challenging golfers with tree lined fairways and a championship layout that can stretch up to 7,500 yards.

Although it’s a public course – available to the guests of the Beau Rivage Resort and Casino – the atmosphere and service mimic that of a local country club, and the staff makes you feel welcomed and at ease. Once you drop your clubs at the bag drop, don’t expect to touch them again! The staff really does their best to give a first class experience.

Just about every hole feels like a signature hole at Fallen Oak, with well placed water hazards and newly designed bunkers enhancing the aesthetically pleasing hole designs. I enjoyed the bit of elevation change and how well each hole was framed by the surrounding tall oaks.

And if you’re into perfect greens, you’ll love the smooth rolling, blemish free surfaces at Fallen Oak. It’s almost impossible to find a ball mark on most of the greens!
