Devereux: A Look At Proper Threads
It’s no secret that Scottsdale is a golf vacationers’ dream. Luxury resorts, pristine desert courses and perfect winter weather. So when it came to picking a location for their company headquarters, it’s no surprise that Devereux (aka DVRX) co-founders Will and Robert Brunner chose sunny Scottsdale.
DVRX is a rising golf and lifestyle based apparel company that’s brining the heat with some great on-and-off course style.
The brand ethos exudes a cool, laid-back yet chic, resort vibe with the idea that what you wear on the course should look transition seamlessly to a downtown dinner, or post round drinks by the pool.
What really sets DVRX apart from the masses is the quality and craftsmanship of their apparel. If you happen to follow their Instagram account, you know exactly what I’m talking about.
The co-founders make routine trips to the ethically-run manufacturing facilities in Europe, where focus is placed on producing high-quality, long-lasting apparel. It shows in the final product, and is embodied by the company’s “Proper Threads” tagline.
DVRX Shirts
DVRX keeps things fresh with a variety of design types and colors. Detail options vary amongst the polo designs to give you all kinds of options to mix it up on and off the course.
The Lucas Polo features a 3-button placket, a resort-wear inspired chest stripe, and a nice detailing touch with the button cuff.
The Brunner polo showcases a throwback 4-button placket and diagonal cut chest pocket, while modernizing the polo with a button down collar and a breathable fabric.
A unique 2-button placket with a contrasting color stands front and center on the Andrew polo, while the heathered effect and cool muted colors help set this shirt apart from the rest.
Shirt materials feature a modern blend of pima cotton and polyester, which look good and perform well throughout those long, hot rounds. I’m seemingly always a proponent of a slimmer fit than exists, but DVRX shirts feature a pretty solid overall fit, with a moderately trim silhouette.
One cool detailing feature is the DVRX logo embroidered on the back of each shirt’s collar. A unique and nice touch to each polo.
DVRX Pants
Hands down, these are some of the best fitting pants I’ve ever owned. If a trim fit is what you’re after, then you’ve found the right trouser in the DVRX Ford 5 Pocket Pant. These are the perfect fall/winter on-and-off course pant, boasting a sateen stretch pima cotton/spandex blend.
If you’re more into the modern golf pant, not to fear: DVRX will soon be introducing the Gravity Pant. This design utilizes a hybrid fabric technology and features a tapered leg with bonded zippers on the back pockets and the bottom cuff inseam. I haven’t tried these yet, but this performance sport pant should be ideal for the spring and summer months.
Other DVRX Gear
DVRX produces a variety of sweaters, including half zips, v-necks, cardigans, and more. I tried out the James Pullover, which is as soft as it is warm for those chilly fall days.
To round out their apparel lineup, DVRX has a variety of hats and swim trunks to choose from too. Some unique hat designs and several styles (snapback, relaxed fit) mean DVRX has a hat for everyone. Grab the “G*LF” snapback for a badass on-course look or rock the Dad Hat during an afternoon chill sesh at the pool.
If you’re having a tough time imagining yourself by the pool this winter, I’m thinking a trip to Scottsdale may be in store. And while we’re making plans, let’s go ahead and upgrade those decade old golf shirts with something we can all feel good about.
Some “Proper Threads”, if you will. DVRX has you covered.
