G/FORE: Be Bold. Be Colorful.

It’s Saturday morning, and you’re pumped. In your world, there’s only one thing that matters today – your tee time with the crew. You roll up to the bag drop, kick the bag boy a 5-spot, and head to the range.

“Damn, I look good,” you think to yourself. You can’t help but feel sharp in your newly purchased golf polo. Strolling toward the practice tee, you pass someone in the same polo.

Grabbing your bucket, you peer toward the far end of the range, and see another. “What gives? What do I have to do to look good and stand apart from the masses?” you wonder.

G/FORE is what’s geniusly created when an art-and-design driven business man marries his passion for golf, with his expertise in fashion, to create a brand that golf’s been missing. A brand that’s doing it’s part to reignite and reenergize the golf apparel industry.

You may know G/FORE for it’s reintroduction of the colored cabretta golf glove, but today’s brand has grown to so much more.

While their uniquely colored gloves stand front and center, G/FORE has created a lineup of well-tailored apparel, fashion forward footwear, and endless accessories to round out the sartorially sophisticated look we yearn to own on the course.

Mossimo Giannulli, the mastermind behind G/FORE, has taken the brand into unchartered territory with the bold, stylish and sometimes even daring colors and patterns.

Pairing these colors with classically-inspired design, modern details, and luxurious fabrics, he’s created a style that is undoubtedly, uniquely G/FORE.

THE PRODUCTS.

I should note that G/FORE has designed fashionable golf apparel/gear for both men and women, but I’ll be focused on the men’s side of the aisle for this post.

Gloves
Dream up any color, and G/FORE likely has it. Not seeing your favorite? Stay calm, and design your own with the customizable Glove Builder. Soft cabretta leather and a perfect fit make these gloves well worth the price.

Apparel
Tops: Shirts so soft, you’ll want to wear them to bed. Many boast a pima cotton and DryTex blend that create a ridiculously lightweight fabric, keeping you dry and dapper all day long. Design details like button-down collars, contrasting color pockets, and a trim silhouette make these some of my favorite shirts.

Bottoms: The club stretch shorts and straight-leg stretch trousers feature a lightweight cotton-blend, perfect for on-or-off course activities. Although I often like to add a belt to the mix, the contrast waist band means no belt, no problem. The pants are currently offered in one-size inseam only, so depending on your height and pant-break preference, a trip to your tailor may be necessary.

Footwear
G/FORE brings the heat with their lineup of golf shoes that range from white Gallivanter low-tops with a dash of color on the sole, to the American-flag inspired, high-top Stars & Stripes Crusaders (yes, you read that correctly)!

I dipped my toes into the high-top category, testing out a pair of Crusaders. Stability and comfort are at the forefront of the performance spectrum, and the unique and fresh on-course look are sure to make the cart girl stop and stare. Don’t get too excited, she just admiring those sweet kicks, after all.

Accessories
G/FORE offers a wide variety of hats (snapbacks, “trucker” hats, visors) and socks to round out your complete look. My personal favorite hat is the panel snap, which features Flexfit technology to provide an extra comfortable fit.

TIME TO MAKE MOVES.

Overall, I’m a big fan of what G/FORE is doing for the golf fashion industry. High performance fabrics, classically-inspired designs and smart use of unique colors make this a great brand that’s only just beginning to make their mark.
