Sprint to Streamsong Episode 4: Tackling Tobacco Road

Few golf courses spark more controversial discussion than Mike Strantz’s Tobacco Road.

Tucked in the sand hills of North Carolina, Strantz actually lived on the property during planning and construction of this modern day gem. I suspect the character and greatness of Tobacco Road is in no small part thanks to Strantz environment — waking-up daily in a quaint pond-side cabin (now adjacent to the 14th green + open to the public to rent out during stays), walking the sandy terrain, and pouring his heart and soul into this golf course.

I for one cannot get enough of Tobacco Road. It’s golfing visual ecstasy at it’s finest and makes for an interesting and entertaining round of golf that I guarantee you won’t tire of — no matter how many times you’ve played.

Tobacco road is open to year-round public play, and runs great deals with nearby Pinehurst courses. Check them out here.
